Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

Short version

Mny.tools is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. The tools generally run in your browser, and tool inputs are not submitted to Mny.tools servers unless a specific feature clearly sends them.

Mny.tools does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, does not run ads, and does not create user accounts.

Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Mny.tools, available at https://mny.tools. For purposes of the GDPR and similar privacy laws, Mny.tools is the controller of personal data processed through this website.

You can contact us about privacy questions or requests at [email protected]. Mny.tools is operated from Germany.

Information We Process

We process the following limited categories of information:

  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps, referrer information, and similar server or CDN log data generated when you visit the site.
  • Cloudflare data: Cloudflare provides DNS, CDN, caching, security, and default traffic analytics for the site. Cloudflare may process technical information such as IP address, request metadata, approximate location derived from IP address, security signals, and cookie or similar identifiers where required for its services.
  • Suggestion and feedback form content: If you submit a suggestion or tool feedback, we receive the text you provide, related page or tool context, and any contact details you choose to include. The forms are handled by Formspree.
  • Browser-local tool data: Some tools may store settings or inputs locally in your browser. For example, the BAC calculator may store its current session in localStorage for up to 24 hours, and the reading speed calculator may store custom passage text, markings, and generated reports locally. The reading speed calculator does not need student names or codes. The seating plan generator keeps student names in your browser. This browser-local data is not sent to Mny.tools by that storage alone.
  • Seating plan request data: When you choose to solve a seating plan, the seating plan generator sends an anonymized request to Mny.tools. The request may include anonymous student IDs, classroom grid dimensions, open and blocked cells, classroom features, student feature flags, relation rules, and other seating requirements. Student names are not sent.

How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate, cache, and secure the website.
  • To understand aggregate site traffic and basic usage patterns.
  • To process anonymized seating plan requests when you choose to generate a seating plan.
  • To troubleshoot errors, abuse, spam, attacks, and technical issues.
  • To receive and respond to suggestions, feedback, or privacy requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce legal rights if necessary.

If the GDPR applies to you, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Legitimate interests: operating, securing, maintaining, improving, and measuring basic use of the website.
  • Consent: where you voluntarily submit optional information, such as contact details in a suggestion or feedback message.
  • Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable laws.

Cookies and Local Storage

Mny.tools does not use advertising cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technologies to provide CDN, security, bot-protection, traffic routing, and default analytics functionality.

Your browser may also store local tool state, such as the BAC calculator session stored in localStorage for up to 24 hours or reading speed calculator reports stored locally for later use. The seating plan generator keeps the mapping between student names and anonymous seating request IDs in your browser. You can delete this by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Service Providers and Disclosures

We use service providers only as needed to operate the site:

  • Cloudflare: DNS, CDN, caching, security, and default analytics.
  • VPS hosting provider: website hosting, server infrastructure, and the seating plan service running on a Hetzner server in Germany.
  • Formspree: processing suggestion and feedback form submissions.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to prevent abuse or security incidents, or in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of the website.

Retention

  • Browser-local BAC calculator data is designed to expire after up to 24 hours.
  • Seating plan requests and results are processed in memory and are not intentionally stored as seating plans or request bodies.
  • Server and CDN logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security, operations, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.
  • Suggestion and feedback submissions are kept as long as needed to review, respond to, or act on them, unless a longer period is required for legal reasons.
  • Aggregated or anonymized statistics that no longer identify a person may be kept indefinitely.

Your GDPR Rights

Depending on your location and the data involved, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.

You may contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, including the authority in your EU member state or the German supervisory authority responsible for your location.

California Privacy Rights

This section provides disclosures under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and under CalOPPA.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect, sell, or share personal information of children under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics or for purposes requiring a right to limit under the CCPA/CPRA.

California residents may request to know, access, delete, correct, or receive a portable copy of personal information, and may appeal or complain as applicable under law. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. To make a request, email [email protected].

Because we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, Global Privacy Control signals do not change site behavior. If the site later offers any activity that requires honoring such signals, this policy will be updated.

Do Not Track and Third-Party Tracking

Some browsers offer a Do Not Track signal. There is no common legal or technical standard for responding to Do Not Track, so Mny.tools does not respond to it. Mny.tools does not use third-party advertising or retargeting trackers. Cloudflare and Formspree may process data as service providers as described above.

Children's Privacy

Mny.tools is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Transfers

The site is operated from Germany, but service providers such as Cloudflare and Formspree may process information in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, data processing terms, and other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the site and the limited information processed through it. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Seating plan API routes are intended to bypass caching, and Mny.tools avoids sending student names in seating plan requests. Standard technical logs may still include metadata such as IP address, timestamp, requested endpoint, status code, user agent, and security metadata.

Mny.tools may link to external websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Changes are effective when they are posted.
